Sunday Summary

Up to 40% Bonus on Purchased United MileagePlus Miles

United ran a limited time offer of receiving up to 40% bonus miles when purchasing United MileagePlus miles. This offer allowed United miles to be purchased for around $.022 per mile. This was a pretty good deal if you had a specific trip in mind and needed to top up your account

Award Miles Flexibility for Your Next Race

This post is a good one to outline how beneficial it can be to use award miles for your next race. It gives great flexibility in the case of a disaster, illness, or some other unforeseen circumstance.

Best Point Earning for the Runner – Under Armour

In a continuation of our series on the Best Point Earning for the Runner, we looked at some of my favorite gear – Under Armour. This post showed how you can earn up to 7/8 points per dollar on your next Under Armour purchase. The average runner spends around $500 on running clothes per year. If that were all to be on Under Armour clothing, this spend could potentially earn you about 3,500 Ultimate Reward points (which is almost a one-way, short-haul flight using British Airways miles on American Airlines).

US Airways 30,000 Mile Offer

In my opinion, one of the best credit card sign-up bonuses out there had been the 40,000 US Airways credit card. They pulled that offer and now there is a public offer for 35,000 miles (but the link leads directly to an application page, so the bonus offer is not visible on the page but in the T&C). This post highlighted a 30,000 mile offer with 10,000 bonus miles annually and annual fee waived for the first year.

Product Deal: Garmin Forerunner 405 w/ Heart rate Monitor for $99 (refurb)

This was a great deal on one of the excellent Garmin Forerunner GPS watches. This is the cheapest I had ever seen on this watch and it was definitely a deal!

American Airlines Helps You Plan Your Award Trip

American Airlines launched an award map tool to help you see where you could go with the miles that you have. This is a great way to open up opportunities that you may not have thought of for a destination.

Boston Marathon Countdown

The Boston Marathon is just a few weeks away. As you would expect, many hotels are already booked up, but there are many hotels that still have award availability for that weekend. Make sure you read this post so that you can see how and where you can get a free room for the Boston Marathon.

Junk Mail Saturday

Only one offer this Saturday, but it could be a beneficial one for those of you who are not as concerned about collecting points and miles and would like cash back instead.

There you have it! Make sure you follow the blog as we are introducing more series this week and you may find some useful information!
