Welcome to the Best Point Earning for the Runner series. This is intended to help the runner obtain the best prices on gear while maximizing the points they can earn. I will cover many different sites and the best cards to use for which purchases as well as some of the best deals on gear.

Here is a great increase for Shoes.com through the United MileagePlus shopping portal. Until September 3rd, the points are at a staggering 21 miles per dollar (instead of 7) for United MileagePlus credit card holders. If you do not have a United credit card, you are able to get 15 miles per dollar – still a great deal!

Shoes.com

To make this deal work, you click through the United MileagePlus Shopping portal and search for shoes.com. Once you see the option come up for Shoes.com at 21 miles per dollar, click it and start shopping! In addition to this great miles deal, they also have a code that you are allowed to use in conjuction with this offer (many discounts are not allowable when using a portal, but this one is). The code is SECRET20 and will take 20% off of your selection.

I checked and saw that many running shoes have similar prices to other stores. Even if some are a little more expensive, the 21 miles per dollar may be enough of a game changer that you may want to go ahead with your purchase from Shoes.com. For instance, if you were to buy $250 worth of shoes, you would end up with 5,250 United miles. I would value these miles to be worth around $100. This makes for a huge rebate! So, go check it out and see if it makes good mile earning sense for you.

To go with this, follow these steps:

  • Go to the shopping portal – here
  • Sign-in with your United number and password
  • Search for Shoes.com
  • Click on the link that appears
  • Start shopping!
